Update BDUC 2005 Blessings to All! We are so
grateful for the great good this competition continues to bring to everyone. It
has been recognized worldwide and truly is the ultimate pleasurable learning experience.
We
thank you for your support of all our endeavors and invite you to attend our Famous
"Original Belly Dance Showcase," now in its 14th year, every Wednesday evening, featuring the finest Belly
Dancers, live music, and many fabulous show extravaganzas throughout the year.
Atlantis
andI are very proud to serve as MECDA's President and Vice President for the Beach
Cities Chapter, promoting events for Humanitarian efforts, most recently contributing
to the Tsunami Relief. My classes all around the Southland are such a joy
(see www.tonyaandatlantis.com
for schedule) and I pleasure deeply working with my two troupes Of Veils and
Incense and Essence of Veils. This was a very busy year for us, with
highly acclaimed performances at The Good Shepherd Fundraiser for the homeless
and abused; special NBA halftime show at the Long Beach State College Pyramid
game between the LA Clippers and the San Antonio Spurs; the Cairo Carnivale at
Glendale Civic Auditorium, the MECDA Anniversary Party and the MEGA STARS Show.
I also continue my work as a practitioner for World Ministry of Prayer phone lines
and at the Seal Beach Church of Religious Science. Atlantis'
year has been most exciting with her company, Belly Dancers of the Universe,
providing entertainment for the stars and special events. Hollywood luminaries
such as Jerry Bruckheimer and Lawrence Kazden marveled; Coach Phil Jackson of
Lakers fame proclaimed Atlantis "His beautiful Baby!" Even USC Coach Pete
Carol got up and mamboed about with Atlantis after their championship win against
Oklahoma. Geena Davis and Paula Abdul also found time to take a swing of the hips!
Also Atlantis landed a great spot on a Good Morning America feature, Spotlight
in Long Beach, showing What's Hot in Long Beach! Currently
Atlantis is working on her new DVD "Mega Stars of the Universe," featuring
Champions of the past 15 years of BDUC. We
continue our support and upkeep for the 5 horses we have rescued from slaughter,
through Equus Sanctuary, P.O. Box 3673, Glendale, CA 91221 and hope you will also. Love
