Update 2002 Happy
New Year to all! Yes, the blessings continue to flow as our competition is receiving
worldwide recognition and we continue to fulfill our commitment to make the Belly
Dancer of the Universe Competition the ultimate learning and pleasurable experience.
This year we have added the Fusion Category, which allows everyone total expression
through Middle Eastern dance.
We dedicate this year's competition to our
Father/Grandfather, Louis 0. Belli, who made his transition in September 2002.
We miss him so. We thank you so much for your support of all our endeavors and
invite you to attend our famous "Original Belly Dance Showcase," now
in its 12th year, where every Wednesday
evening live music, Belly Dancing and a variety of events of the highest caliber
take place.
Atlantis and I are very proud to continue our service to MECDA's
Beach Cities Chapter, as President and Vice President. Atlantis continues to perform
and book entertainment through her company, Belly Dancers of the Universe, for
Papadakis Taverna and the finest hotels and events in the Southern California
area. We both enjoyed a wonderful workshop and show in Miami Shores, Florida
and Atlantis will return there once again in April 2003. My dance classes
just keep getting bigger and better. I continue my work as a Practitioner on the
phone lines for World Ministry of Prayer and at the Seal Beach Church of Religious
Science. Once again we sent our annual donation for care and upkeep of our five
